Hanoi [Vietnam], December 22: Online newspaper Taiwan News on December 21 reported that a university of science and technology in Taoyuan city recently reported to authorities about the case of 12 female students from Vietnam who suddenly disappeared from the dormitory.
After the police investigation, the students were found in the state of becoming prostitutes at a property on Linsen North Road in Zhongshan District of Taipei City.
The police side rescued 3 female students, while the whereabouts of the remaining 9 victims are unknown.
According to the Taiwanese newspaper, in recent years, sex trafficking rings have defrauded young women in Southeast Asia by using the guise of "studying abroad" at Taiwanese universities. However, when they arrived, they were taken to massage parlors or rented houses to work as prostitutes .
The ringleaders also lured female university students into prostitution to pay for their tuition fees, or make "fresh" money quickly, or reimburse labor brokerage fees, before kidnapping the women. victims and turn them into sex workers.
In October, Taipei police received reports of a ring of prostitutes in residential areas on Linsen North and Xinsheng North Road. However, initially, the police had difficulty finding the right sex workers because the gangsters were extremely vigilant.
After that, the police also found a "cave" and discovered 3 young Vietnamese women here. The three testified that they were university students in Taoyuan and were "brainwashed" by traffickers before becoming entangled in a prostitution ring.
In addition, a female student surnamed Chen, from a university of science and technology in Tainan city, disappeared three days after enrolling. Police later discovered this person in a prostitution ring in Taipei.
