Ankara [Egypt], April 22: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry discussed President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's upcoming visit to Türkiye in his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his visit to Istanbul on Saturday, the Egyptian Foreign Minister said.
According to Ahram Online, Shoukry noted that this visit is part of the preparations for President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's upcoming visit to Turkey for the inaugural meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council between the two countries.
During the meeting, Erdogan and Shoukry exchanged views on several regional and international issues, including the escalating crisis in Gaza and its severe humanitarian repercussions.
They stressed the necessity of achieving an immediate and permanent ceasefire and allowing unhindered humanitarian aid access, and reiterated the warning against any military operation in the Palestinian Rafah.
They also underscored the importance of continued coordination and joint action between Cairo and Ankara to prevent the conflict from spreading in the region.
