Tel Aviv [Israel], October 11: The Hamas movement, which rules the Gaza Strip, on Tuesday called for a "general mobilization" of the Arab and Muslim worlds in support of Palestinians.
This coming Friday would be marked as the "Friday of Al Aqsa Flood," Hamas said, with the event aimed at showing support for the Palestinian people "in the face of the open warfare of the (Israeli) occupation." Hamas also called on young Palestinians in the West Bank to engage in confrontations with Israeli soldiers.
Arabs residents of Israel, in turn, should come to the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and gather there, Hamas said. The Temple Mount, known as Al Haram Al Sharif in Arabic, with the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque, is the third holiest site in Islam. (DPA)
