Pyongyang [North Korea], March 13: North Korea has decided to take "significant concrete steps" in order to deter war, the official KCNA news agency reported today.
The decision was made at a meeting of the Central Military Commission of the ruling Workers' Party chaired by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The report states that the measures are a response to the current situation, in the context of "war provocations by the US and South Korea, which have reached the red line".
KCNA does not specify which measures are in question.
South Korea and the US are scheduled to begin the Freedom Shield joint military exercise tomorrow.
