Havana (Cuba), December 10: The United States lacks "international prestige" to host the so-called "Summit for Democracy," Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on Thursday.
The United States "hosts a unilateral and selective summit in disregard for the United Nations, because it recognizes its isolation in that multilateral body" and its inability to impose its values and rules that serve its narrow strategic interests, Rodriguez tweeted.
Meeting for "democracy" hosted by the United States "shows its lack of leadership & despise for the United Nations," the Cuban diplomat wrote in another tweet. "It's a sterile and hypocritical attempt to impose pre-established recipes which reveals anti-democratic behavior & open contempt for other peoples' legitimate & sovereign will."
