The Hague [Netherlands], January 5: Royal Dutch Airlines KLM announced on Sunday that 124 flights to and from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol scheduled for Monday have been canceled due to persistent snow and freezing weather conditions.
The airline said on its official website that it will rebook affected passengers on the next available flights with open seats. KLM has already canceled hundreds of flights since Friday as cold conditions continue to disrupt airport operations.
Schiphol Airport also warned passengers to expect flight delays and cancellations as winter weather continues to affect operations.
The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute KNMI issued a yellow weather alert for slippery roads across the entire country, in effect until 17:00 local time (1600 GMT) Tuesday. Winter weather and slippery conditions are expected to persist over the coming days.
